Groups Who Participate in the Worship Service

The following groups assist at the Sunday and special worship services.

  • St. Mary’s Altar Guild - The members prepare and maintain the altar for all services.

  • Acolytes - The Acolyte Advisor trains and schedules the Acolytes so that they an assist at the 9:30am and other special services.

  • Lay Readers - Five licensed lay readers help administer the chalice and lead Morning Prayer.

  • Lectors - A group of lectors are available to read the lessons at worship services.

  • Ushers - Two people are assigned to greet and usher people to the pews, deliver the elements of Communion to the altar, collect the offering and guide people to the Communion rail.

  • Choir - Our choir sings at the 9:30am service as well as at some of the special services; including community services.

  • At some of the special worship services, arrangements are made for special church music performed by guest musicians.
